The water problem requires cooperation
Water problems in the Netherlands are becoming increasingly visible and urgent. Invest-NL sees a connecting role for itself in the water transition. This week, the water sector, (institutional) financiers, knowledge institutions, entrepreneurs and the public sector came together during the 'Water in Transition' event.
By starting the dialogue, Invest-NL wants to improve the financeability of the water sector. Three interactive panels focused on important themes: the public-private financing of climate adaptation, combating water pollution in agriculture and scaling up water innovations.
"It is important that more and more people, including in the financial sector, understand the urgency of the water problem. At the same time, there are already financial opportunities that the water sector can make more use of. During the event, these insights came together nicely. Valuable contacts have been made, and now we can move forward to get the water transition moving," says initiator of the Water Exploration Trajectory, Martha Huysinga.
Many thanks to Detmer Koekoek, Viktor Filipan, Inez de Leau - Kolkman, IJsbrand Snoeij, Stefan Weijers, Job van Schelven, Jildau Boerma and our Invest-NL colleagues Jellie Banga, Andrea van Dijk, Dolores de Rooij, CFA, Myrthe van Dalen, Rik Pantjes, Nina Waldhauer and David de Vries for their valuable contribution!
